It's been a while!

Sparkle strawberry...my gramma's favorite.
They tend to grow better in the north as compared to the south,
but they still taste amazing!

I love how these little tendrils search for something to hang onto…even if it’s each other!

First crop of beans this year!

Quick recipe: Garlic Green Beans with Soy Sauce
3 cups of green beans, trim the ends
2 cloves of garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon canola oil
a few drops of sesame oil
2 Tablespoons Soy sauce
Heat a sauté pan to medium high heat.  Add both oils and garlic.  Cook 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.  Add beans and sauté for several minutes, stirring occasionally.  Cover and let cook until tender.  Add Soy Sauce and cook a few more minutes being careful not to burn the soy sauce.  Enjoy!

Ok, so I said that my biggest worry is white flies.  We had our tree out back trimmed and I hope that helps to reduce the white fly infestation in the development, but I'm going to try to keep them at bay with lemon juice.  I'm going to spray my trees with it and pray they stay away.  I will keep you posted!
Day 1- Bean Plant

Day 2- Same bean plant
What a difference a day makes!  The first bean plant was sprouting on Saturday, and then Sunday! So amazing that they know just what to do!

Strawberries!  I can't wait to taste them!

Planting carrot seeds!
Well we didn't get things planted last week, but today we spent the day organizing, planting and watering.  We planted sugar snap peas, edemame, chives, cilantro, oregano, basil, thyme, green and yellow beans, carrots, 4 kinds of tomatoes, and pablano peppers.
In a couple days, the sprouts will begin to show.  Especially beans...they grow quickly.
My biggest worry this season is white flies!!!
